Johanna Gusman

Johanna Gusman is a Senior Lawyer with the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) with over a decade of experience in international law and human rights. She has served as a Visiting Research Scholar at Oxford University (Mansfield College), Georgetown University Law Center, Australian National University, and the University of Melbourne Climate Futures Environmental Research Hub. Previously, she served as a Regional Adviser on Human Rights and Social Development with The Pacific Community (SPC), where she worked closely with Pacific governments in coordination and preparation for International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion on obligations of States in respect of climate change, serving as counsel for both the organization and Kiribati. She is both a Fulbright Scholar and Gates Public Service Law Scholar and firmly believes that securing the rights of future generations is at the heart of meaningfully realizing climate justice.
