James Aaporekuu

FOUNDER & CEO

James Aaporekuu is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the African Young Leaders Foundation - AYLF. He is the Former President of the African Law Students’ Association - ALSA. He serves as the Head of Global Programs at the Sages of International Law of Africa (SILA Global Foundation).

He had his postgraduate studies in Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD), Rwanda. Due to his hard work and dedication to whatever he pursues, he was honoured as the best graduating student in International Trade and Investment Law, Commercial Law, and Energy Law in the 2020 Bachelor of Law (LL.B) batch by the University of Professional Studies, Accra Law Schoo (UPSA Law School).

He belongs to plethora of international organizations and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, UK. He also serves as the Programmes Directorate for General Legal Awareness Society (GLAS) based in the Republic of Ghana.

He participated and attained a certified certificate of participation in the Legal Ethics Training Program, Kigali-Rwanda in the year 2019 organized by the African Centre on Law and Ethics (ACLE) in collaboration with Fordham University-New York, GIMPA Faculty of Law, White & Case LLP and INES-Ruhengeri.

Having said that, he also acquired a certificate for participating for participating in a law competition on behalf of the UPSA Law School as he then was entitled ‘The Law Challenge-Ghana, 2019’ an initiative by Touchworld Financial & Investment Consult.

Continually, he was again awarded a certificate of achievement in Crossroads: Strengthening Community Health Workers Programs a course of study offered by HarvardX, learning initiative of Harvard University, USA. He again worked as a Legal Research Assistant at Dery & Co. Legal Practitioners, Consultants & Public Notaries, Asylum Down-Accra. He served as a Justice of the UPSA Judicial Council (Supreme Chamber) and several others.
